Grinding Head

Grinding heads are used in transfer lines to machine cylinder head surfaces. The grinding operation offers excellent flatness with achieving the required roughness. The process is proven and very cost effective. The orbital axis is preloaded with two large Timken bearings, which guarantees the high stiffness of the unit. The grindng spindle is designed as a cartridge style to allow easy maintenance. The grinding wheel is mounted to a tool holder with HSK tool interface, the tool interface guarantees high radial and axial stiffness, as well very close manufacuturing tolerances. . A specially developed coolant supply mechanism allows maximum flow to the spindle nose where the coolant is distributed with a shower head, with this technology the grinding wheel is free of smear.
